So after a month of sitting on my hands and thinking through all of this junk that is my WIP, I have decided to take up the flag once more and go headfirst into the fray.
I told my mentor today that my WIP is a Rubik's Cube. I get one side figured out, and I turn it over and goddammit there's a red square in a blue line.
But it's time to put away submissions, workshop manuscripts, short stories, everything, to focus back in on this project. I have a deadline for myself to have it ready to go in March. It was originally December. Now it is March. Shoot me.
In the meantime, in my personal life, I have been doing everything in my power to discover new things about a place I've lived for a summation of over two decades. I've been packing up my laptop and trying to find the places in the city that are beautiful. Here are some pictures I've taken around the downtown area. I've been trying to find a new writing spot down there.
So between not hating where I live and not smashing my Rubik's Cube manuscript against the wall (or just taking off all the stickers and cheating), I am sure that I will retain my sanity for the remainder of 2016.
Day 170: My WIP is a Rubik's Cube. My city is sort of pretty when using a filter.

Dawson is a writer. This is her blog. In it, you shall read about reading. And writing. And cheeseburgers. Sometimes there are tangents. Huzzah.
