I'm sorry I didn't write last night, but sometimes it's between getting actual work done or telling you about the work I didn't do because I decided to write my blog instead.
Yesterday, I got up and worked worked worked. I read some stuff, both for school and others' manuscripts, and then I finally connected an old piece to the new pieces of my manuscript. We're also redoing the apartment and cleaned some. We ordered a new carpet that looks like a fantastical pool of some sort. Alex says we're turning the library into a fantasy-themed room and the writing room is going to be science fiction themed, and this is why I'm marrying him. As you can see to the right, I've been busy getting into the mindset of my characters and actually having fun with my manuscript. Now that I'm able to focus on it, I'm having a lot of fun and feel really invigorated. Also, no I did not make this art. It is other people's art. If it's a problem showing that art, I'll get rid of that picture of my image references. Also, I found the image references after I'd written my first draft, so no I didn't steal ideas off these artists. Okay, anxiety-riddled disclaimer done, sweet. But Marian, who is another amazing bloggess who goes to Stonecoast, introduced me to 8trax this morning, and there that morning went. So above is the playlist for one of my protagonists. This all looks like a bunch of procrastination, but my writing does 100 times better when I have this stuff on my side. It gives me time to meditate without having to worry about word choice. It helps me plan. It's pretty damn awesome. Today and the next week, I have a lot to do. I've got hours for work this week, so not as open as last week that I had off to go to a wedding I ended up not going to due to PT ... but anyway. Yes. I have a lot to do. I have an outline to send a mentor. I have a manuscript I need to get in good graces for a BETA reader. I have a lot of school work. There's just a lot. I'm gonna have to stay on top of it. Allons-y! |
