So today, on my way to workshop, I realized I did not have my house keys. Where did they go? I do not know. This is a pondering I've had all day. But luckily for me, I realized this problem in time to grab my laptop so I could meet up with Kate at a coffee shop after workshop. I then settled in with the meal of Champions: a rice krispie bar and a Diet Coke. It reminded me of being in college, able to just sit somewhere with junk food and write in the middle of the day. I wrote that battle scene. At the end of four straight hours, I'd coughed up 5,000 words and a pretty solid first draft. There were also a couple of tears. It's emotional. I feel accomplished today. I got so much done, and I made up for the lack of getting things done these past couple of days. I just hit it with the Mad Max soundtrack, kept going and going and not looking back, and voila. I now have 5,000 more words than I had. It was a blessing in disguise I lost my keys today. Although upon returning home and searching for them with Alex, I found them at the bottom of my purse. Womp womp. |
