Day Eighty-Three, Eighty-Four, Eighty-Five: No Internet

So right when I'd made a pact with myself to update every day, the internet is hit by lightning. Literally.

But I still took a picture for every day, and now I shall tell my tale in photography.

Exhibit A. My new favorite place to write that isn't my apartment. As you may have remembered, I stopped writing in my apartment all the time, because I was getting lazy and sleepy. Going to coffee houses means that when I want to sleep, I can't. When I want to do something else, I can't. I have to sit there and write, dammit.

So I went to Scooters and wrote about nine pages, getting back on track. Last week's writing crawl helped me get excited about the project again, and I got to write some really creepy stuff while at Scooters. This is my set up. You see that computer? It's about to lose power.

This brings us to Exhibit B. This picture of the lake. You may not be able to make it out, but that lake is flooded. The spot where we stood for our Cinderella Day is flooded. It's all underwater right now. Why, you ask? Well, thanks for your inquiry. Yes, well, it stormed. It stormed and lightning struck our apartment and our cable box exploded.

So there was no internet. This meant I couldn't update my blog. This also meant that whatever internet I could find needed to go to my paper writing.

Which leads us to Exhibit C. My current workstation in our dining room of my paper. To the left, you can see R2 hard at work with the actual document. To the right, you can see my big honker Mr. Cane who has both my outline and my sources pulled up. In between, you see a notebook with my annotation list and a bowl full of ramen. To the far left, you see my Parmesan cheese. Off camera is my big book, Catharsis in Healing, Ritual, and Drama.

My brain has bounced back and forth between daily chores (i.e. getting the internet going), wedding planning (it is literally in 22 days), writing the book (I am so very close to the end), and my third semester project paper (kill. me.). This paper has been the death of me, and I'm glad that I got so much done today and that this portion is due tomorrow and I can focus on the wedding for a while. I had a run-in with my PT person today ("You do know that you have to exercise every day, right? Even if you have a paper?") and my wedding coordinator ("Yeah no, I need that paperwork today"). So it'll be nice to have a moment to breathe on Friday.

Allons-y!

    What is this?

Dawson is a writer. This is her blog. In it, you shall read about reading. And writing. And cheeseburgers. Sometimes there are tangents. Huzzah.
