This here is a picture of my work on Saturday afternoon, when I was still in denial about my physical health. I was like, "Yeah, no, I'm totally good." I got my tissues, cranked up my Chris Merrill, and tried to do some IWW lessons. Unfortunately, trying to do three hours of graduate-level work does not do well for an immune system teetering on the edge of sick.
And this is really ironic, because my friend Vicki just posted a blog post where she warned everyone to cool it when they're sick. (Read it here)
So by Saturday evening, I was dead to the world. I slept for hours. I tried to get something done, just to collapse in a heap of exhaustion and sleep some more.
So today, I attempted to work through the tail-end of my sick, and I got a few things done, but not enough. I'm so behind, and I'm working at my job this whole week. I've got a contest deadline coming up this weekend, and I have another packet due in eight days.
Sometimes, however, you just cannot work. Sometimes, no matter how absolutely excruciating it is to sit there and do nothing, you have to.
Now for the rest of the week where I have everything to do.
I worked for four hours straight this morning, went to work, and came back to work for another four hours. It was awesome.
